Try logging on to the table decoration competition at www.crewandyou.com . This is run by a company solely dedicated to the needs and requirements of interior crew on yachts. On the site there is a competition for table decorations. The idea behind this is to give crews a chance to showcase their table settings etc as well as to help provide ideas and themes for other stewardesses at the end of a long charter when you are running out of fresh ideas. At the end of each season there is a case of champagne to be won so please send in as many photos as you like to help inspire others with your ideas and creativity.

Have a look at www.themetablesettings.com  You can have a complete boxed theme table setting including 8 x placemats, 8 x napkins and centrepiece, conveniently delivered to the door.  They are good quality, reusable and are guaranteed to impress guests.  We use different table settings for breakfast lunch and dinner every day.  We had 80 and they were always a great conversation piece to present!

Hi Beckyboop,

I went through the same thing not too long ago.  This was my answer:

1.  Books. I went to the bookstore in Antibes and picked up a Table Decorating book. I won't even mention the name because it wasn't that great of a book.  It did, however, teach me about the theory behind setting the table (height, color contrasts etc).  I'm sure there are other great books as well which I plan on ordering when I'm stateside again.

2. Pinterest & Google.  I collected table setting photos that inspired me one way or another from Pinterest and Goole, put that on Word and printed them off.

3. Inspiration Book. I put the photos that I printed in one of those presentation folders with the clear inserts you can get in Europe. You could use a binder in the US as well.  I took that shopping with me for ideas and kept it in our Stew Pantry when the guests were on.  I looked at it every day for inspiration and the guests were very happy with my results!

I wish I could share the photos but I can't because of privacy on board.

Hope this helps though.
