The yachting community has lost one of its beloved members. On June 23, 2010, Chief Steward Paul Morrison of M/Y Paraffin passed away at age 38 due to heart failure. Morrison worked on Paraffin for more than six years. He began his career in the yachting industry in May 1992 on board M/Y Il Vagabondo and worked aboard Utopia, Rasselas, Little Sis and Liberated, to mention a few. Paul was adventurous, giving, kind and dedicated to his profession and had a love of sailing. A memorial for Paul will be held Friday, July 30, at Eastbourne Crematorium in Langley, UK, at 2:30 p.m. Paul’s family is asking for donations to the British Heart Foundation in lieu of flowers. All friends are invited to attend the memorial. Capt. Watson da Silva of M/Y Paraffin will take the vessel out of Barcelona to scatter Paul’s ashes and welcomes Paul’s friends to attend; a date has not yet been set, but it is expected to take place late in the summer. Check back for more details.
