We want to get some paint ball guns for beach entertainment. I was looking into Tippmann but was wondering if anyone has any specific experience with a brand and/or model that does well on the beach with all the sand and salt etc. Also, are the pellets bio degradable?

Yea mate we bought the tippman A-5 standards cheap but we used them everywhere on the beach in the park, never had problems with salt water although we never played with them in the water but im sure thas not what you meant, and the balls are gelatin capsules like the shit on pills so they are biodegradable, the only danger is getting drunk while on the boat and pulling the paint ball guns out, its get messy pretty fast.

Tippmanns are great cheap markers that never break and can take a lot of abuse, exspecially around salt water and sand. Definitely buy auto hoppers, so you never get a jam. also buy air tanks instead of co2, you can fill them off your scuba tanks. Get a good mask, just remember when you get hit they leave little welts so you might look kinda funny with guests on board covered in little hickey's

I wonder if these will deter pirates or simply annoy them.

I know they sell pepperballs for them like the police carry, just not sure on the legality of them

And a huge groan goes up from Deck crew around the world, because whilst they may not the ones pulling the trigger they will certainly be the ones cleaning it up. Wont they drunk WHINGINEERS and STEWS!!!!!!!
Also mate dont forget your going to need all the protective gear to go with it.The last thing your going need is a sepo guest getting shot in the eye and the lawsuits that will follow.Sorry to be downer but just giving the other angle.
