The blaze damaged another yacht and several boats at the Mergellina marina, police said. Rain on Wednesday helped extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading to more boats in the marina, according to police. Investigators said they did not rule out arson, but believe the blaze may have been caused by an electrical fault in the yacht's pump system.
