Job Description

A 94m cruise shipis currently search for 2X General purpose hand (Deckhand) to join their crewof 24. 

Must have a masterV ticket, MED2 and STCW95 AMSA endorsed. You will be required to contribute tothe comfort, education, entertainment and well-being of all guests at alltimes. This should be achieved through active and non-intrusive guestinteraction. Required to work as part of a high performing team/crew in theprovision of the overall cruise experience for guests and employment experiencefor crew. Required to maintain the highest standards of behavior, disciplineand dress appropriate to company policy and image at all times.

Required to complete all other duties as directed by Captainincluding assisting in the galley, bar, wheelhouse or engine room. Suchrequests will be of a reasonable nature.

Food and accommodation is provided free of charge whilstaboard the vessels. Accommodation is on a share basis in male crew quarters.

As per the Navigation Act, it is the responsibility of allcrew to keep crew quarters clean and presentable at all times. Quarters will beinspected periodically by Captain and Purser.

oGeneral maintenance and vessel cleanliness asrequired by the ship board management.

oLookout/anchor watch duties as required by theship board management.

oDriving of tenders, Zodiacs, Rescue boats andlifeboats as required.

oParticipation in drills as required by StatutoryRegulation and undertake other shipboard/shore side training as required by theCompany.

oAttend crew meetings

oAssist in passenger exchanges and vessel turnaround’s as required.

oUndertake any other duties as reasonablyrequired by the ship board management.

Local candidates will be given preference.

ITINERARY: Great Barrier Reef, Interstate and International.

QUALIFICATIONS: AMSA Master V Ticket ;Proficiency in Survival Craft; AMSAEndorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST); Navigational Watch Rating;Passenger Ship training; AMSA Medical; MSIC Card ; Remote Area First Aid &Advanced CPR; Steering Certificate (issued on board)

START DATE:  February 2019

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  full time  

SALARY:Casual rate onlystarting at AUD $1600.00 per 7 sea days.
